After a great Sunday afternoon at
Songwriters In The Round,
Perhaps you'd like to mosey on over to Bay City
for the 27th Annual Review Music Awards?
Here's the list of nominees:

Review Magazine & Strouse/Hopkins Apartments will be hosting the 27th Annual Review Music Awards Ceremony & Celebration on Sunday, April 21st at BARTS Entertainment Complex, 804 E. Midland St. in Bay City from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Since the first ceremony in 1987, the Music Awards have evolved into one of the premier cultural events in the Great Lakes Bay Area and beyond, awarding trophies to over 60 categories of Rock, Country, Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, Folk and Alternative. Additionally, this year the Ceremony will present a series of Critic's Choice Awards, as well as present a pair of uniquely designed trophies to inaugural inductees of The Michigan Music Hall of Fame for their nationally recognized contributions to the lexicon of popular music.  The diversity & scope of the Awards truly makes this ceremony a regionalized version of the 'Grammy Awards'. The top five groups and musicians in each of the divisions were nominated by fans and the general public through an online ballot process over a three month period from January through March. This year 6531 people registered to vote in the contest.

The single purpose of this ceremony is to bring greater community, statewide, and national recognition to local talent, which we feel has a rich history of being one of the strongest in the state, and giving it the proper notoriety and attention that it deserves. Guest personalities, cultural, and community leaders will assist in handing out awards the night of the ceremony, while a strong list of local performers will headline this year's show with live performances.  Musical guests this year will feature performances and collaborations from Big Brother Smokes (Rock) • Barbarossa (Jazz) • Scott Baker & the Universal Expressions (Blues) • Dani Vitany & Ten Hands Tall (Country) • Melva Jane and Tay Ray (Hip-Hop) • and Brick Top Mafia (featuring members from Empty Pockets &amp Maybe August).

Additionally, a VIP After Party will be held at The Stables from 10 PM - 1 AM that will feature guest performances by Steve Armstrong & the 25 Cent Beer Band and Soul Xpress, with proceeds going to establish the Michigan Music Hall of Fame.

Tickets for this special ceremony are only $10.00 in advance, and $15.00 at the door, or you can purchase a block of six table tickets for $50.00. Advance ticket purchase also allows admission to the VIP After Party; otherwise admission to the After Party is $5.00 to the general public.

Tickets are available at the following locations: SAGINAW: Review Magazine, White's Bar, Records & Tapes Galore, and Oppermann's Cork 'n Ale. BAY CITY: BARTS Entertainment Complex / The Stables • Mid Michigan Music, Bemo's & The Indie Spot. MIDLAND: Mid Michigan Music • Tim Boychuck's State Farm Insurance • Winston's Pub • Espresso Milano. A dining menu will also be available during the ceremony.
